COVID outbreak at youth detention centre in Oria, Almeria. The ‘Tierras de Oria’ detention centre for minors has both staff and residents that are positive for COVID, after a minor showed COVID-19 symptoms after being admitted to the facility. The minor was tested with an antigen test, and found to be positive so immediate precautions were taken, and the youths sharing the same space were also tested. The North Almeria Health Management Area has been notified of the situation and an external company will be disinfecting parts of the facility using a nebuliser system. So far there are 12 minors in isolation that have tested with a PCR test, but the results are outstanding. Workers that had been in contact with the minors have been sent home to self-isolate and three of the people sent home have tested positive.
