THE Bristol wildlife park, Wild Place Project, is looking for aftershave for the Christmas stockings.
The park is looking for strange donations this Christmas, and would like aftershave donations for the Christmas stockings. Animals use smells as an important part of their behaviour and the addition of new smells to their environments is a treat for them.
Not only do the park’s cheetahs, like aftershave, but the lynxes, bears and meerkats are fans too. Animal manager, Will Walker said, “We want to enrich their lives so we use scents like perfume, herbs and spices to occupy them,”
“It’s mostly the carnivores who love to roll about in new scents as they use smell to determine whose territory it is and a way of communicating.
“They like to roll about in the scent to cover it up with their own smell from their scent glands all over their bodies as a way of marking the territory as their own.”
