The Mallorca-born celebrity sportsman provides the voiceover for the island government’s promotional video, which is aimed especially at the national visitor market.
Over sweeping aerial shots of the island’s coastline, landscapes, capital city and natural wonders, Nadal tells viewers Mallorca has worked hard to get back to normal life “so that the strange thing is to be at home and not out there looking for freedom,” and so that “holidays are as ever: free time to disconnect and forget about everything.”
The video is part of a Consell de Mallorca marketing campaign and packet of measures aimed at reactivating the tourism sector in the face of the coronavirus crisis.
It is due to be broadcast at prime time on national TV from the first fortnight of July. Versions in Catalan, English, German and French will be put out on social media.
