Holly Willoughby is not ashamed of her wrinkles

Holly Willoughby is not ashamed of her wrinkles, however, This Morning presenter has admitted that she “is doing her best to stay positive now that her ageing body is rapidly changing at the age of 40”.

Holly and her husband Dan Baldwin have three children, Harry, 12, Belle, 10, and Chester 7. The always glamorous TV presenter said she feels an obligation to set an example for her daughter. There is too much pressure put on women by social media to have that look of youthful beauty. Instead of feeling like we should adhere to what society expects us to look like, Holly feels like it is her duty to set an example to her daughter to be positive and not worry about wrinkles or grey hair.

According to the Mirror, The This Morning Presenter said “Particularly as you’re getting older, and I think when you hit your forties things change quite rapidly. We’re heading towards that kind of menopausal time, skin is changing, wrinkles are appearing, hair is changing, the body’s changing, even having had a baby completely changes the shape of your body”

She went on to say “I think it’s really important in those moments to kind of, rather than look down and go ‘oh my God, look at everything that’s changing, I’m getting older, I’m going to get more wrinkles, my t**s are around my knees’, instead of looking down, you’ve sort of got to look up with it and go ‘God, my body was able to carry a baby and my boobs breastfed three children, and they were fine”.

“Well, two and a half – Chester was useless, I was useless, couldn’t quite do it – and then you’ve got to kind of go `you know, yes, my face is starting to sag, and my eyes are bloodshot, and the rest of it, but you know, I’m healthy and I’m OK and getting older is like a privilege because not everybody else gets to be here”.

Holly continued to say that “Having a daughter, I’m very aware of the example I set now in this stage because Belle’s ten, so she’s old enough now to be watching me, and I want to conduct myself in a way that when she gets to this stage, it’s like I’m clearing the pathway for her.

Holly obviously has the right view on how to age gracefully and not feel pressurised by society’s perceptions on how a woman should look. Wrinkles or no wrinkles, we think Holly is perfect as she is.
