There is more trouble for the apps that fall under the Meta umbrella today as people are suffering worldwide outages on the Facebook, Instagram and Messenger services. The outages started at around 1:45pm ET and are mostly affecting the mobile applications, although users are reporting that the Messenger desktop site is also facing issues.
Downdetector is an online site that shows outages on the most popular apps across the world. The biggest problems are in the US with people in New York, Los Angeles and Arizona, but the issues are worldwide and impacting Europe, Mexico and Australia.
The reason behind the Meta outages is unknown, and it is not clear when they will be up and running again.
