Prince Andrew sued in American federal court for alleged sexual abuse by Virginia Guiffre.
An alleged victim of deceased sex offender Jeffrey Epstein has actioned a lawsuit against Prince Andrew, and accused the 61-year-old royal of sexually abusing her at Epstein’s Manhattan mansion and elsewhere when she was under the age of 18, according to the complaint filed with the court and a report from ABC news.
The lawsuit, filed by Virginia Roberts Giuffre in the Manhatten federal court of New York, comes almost two years to the day that Epstein died in a New York jail while he was awaiting trial on conspiracy and child sex trafficking charges.
“Twenty years ago, Prince Andrew’s wealth, power, position, and connections enabled him to abuse a frightened, vulnerable child with no one there to protect her. It is long past the time for him to be held to account,” the lawsuit states.
“I am holding Prince Andrew accountable for what he did to me. It is possible not to live in silence and fear but to reclaim one’s life by speaking out and demanding justice.” Giuffre said in a statement.
“I’ve said consistently and frequently that we never had any sort of sexual contact whatever,” said Prince Andrew, who denied the allegations in a 2019 interview with the BBC.
“If she doesn’t do it now, she would be allowing him to escape any accountability for his actions, and Virginia is committed to trying to avoid situations where rich and powerful people escape any accountability for their actions,” said Giuffre’s attorney, David Boies, chairman of Boies, Schiller Flexner, speaking to ABC News.
The legal action also comes just days before the expiration date of a New York state law that permits alleged victims of childhood sexual abuse to file civil claims that might otherwise be barred by statutes of limitations.

Ron actually started his working career as an Ophthalmic Technician- things changed when, during a band rehearsal, his amplifier blew up and he couldn’t get it fixed so he took a course at Birmingham University and ended up doing a degree course. He built up a chain of electronics stores and sold them as a franchise over 35 years ago. After five years touring the world Ron decided to move to Spain with his wife and son, a place they had visited over the years, and only bought the villa they live in because it has a guitar-shaped swimming pool!. Playing the guitar since the age of 7, he can often be seen, (and heard!) at beach bars and clubs along the length of the coast.
