The Councillor for Health, Javier Rodriguez, reports that the screening carried out yesterday afternoon in Nerja by the Ministry of Health and Families of the Junta de Andalucia has detected six new positive Covid cases.
173 tests were done out of the 825 people summoned, a participation rate of 21 per cent.
Rodriguez thanked all the participants who have voluntarily undergone the test, “which has made it possible to locate asymptomatic infected people that otherwise would have been impossible, which helps a lot to stop the spread of the virus in our municipality ”.
He also congratulated the Local Police and Civil Protection team who at all times ensured the safety of the attendees and the compliance with hygienic-sanitary measures.
The Ministry of Health and Families reported six new infections and five recovered people today, August 10. The incidence rate remains at 832.4 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the last 14 days. So far in the pandemic, a total of 1065 cases have been detected, of which 727 have been cured, and 12 have died.
Rodriguez recalls that last June the first screening was carried out in the municipality, in which two infections were detected and there was a participation of 28.36 per cent, when 114 people of the 402 selected attended, according to the data provided by the Junta de Andalucia.
