In other Spanish news, a nursing home outbreak claims three lives in Almeria, and eight more people are in hospital.

Sadly, the coronavirus has hit at La Purisima nursing home in Spain’s Almeria. The nursing home is only metres from the Virgin del Mar hospital and is located on Mami de La Cañada road. This week the nursing home has been returned to grade 1 due to an outbreak of the potentially deadly coronavirus. First the virus hit 42 residents and workers at the nursing home even with the rapid intervention of health authorities. The number of people affected has now grown and stands at 57 people. Sadly, three people have died according to the Regional Ministry of Health and Families as reported Diario de Almeria.

Tragically in the last few hours three people have died and a further eight people are still in hospital.

Many of the elderly residents in the nursing home have other medical conditions and this has been aggravated by the coronavirus infections even though they were all vaccinated earlier this year. Sadly, this has meant that some people have not been able to overcome the infection.
