STEPHEN GRAHAM Joins The Peaky Blinders Cast for the final season of the BBC1 drama

Stephen Graham was officially confirmed on the Peaky Blinders social media accounts on Thursday (April 29) as having joined the cast for the sixth and final season of the popular BBC1 drama which is currently in production.

A photo of the 47-year-old Liverpudlian actor, dressed in period costume, appeared on social media, accompanied by the caption, “We’re thrilled that Stephen Graham has joined the cast of #PeakyBlinders series 6”, to which Graham replied, “Thanks for having me”, with the prayer hands emoji, just a few days after the actor was spotted filming alongside Cillian Murphy, who plays Tommy Shelby.

Having already played top roles in dramas Line Of Duty, This Is England, and Boardwalk Empire, Graham is a big catch for Peaky Blinders, and one can’t help but feel that this type of drama series was tailor-made for him, though his character has not been announced yet.

In Boardwalk Empire, the drama based on prohibition-era America, he played the part of Chicago gangster Al Capone with real menace, and Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight has previously been known to have said he was going to devise a role in his series specifically for Stephen Graham, but has scoffed at rumours that it would be Al Capone.

That said, I seem to recall in series four, Capone made a deal with the Peaky Blinders and had Changretta killed to take over his bootlegging operations in New York, with the Blinders beginning to supply Capone with alcohol soon thereafter, but, Capone was only heard, and never seen, so, maybe Steven Knight is trying to call our bluff, as reported by rte.ie.
