Execution of Only Woman On Death Row Delayed

EXECUTION of the only woman on death row has been delayed for a second time

The only woman on death row in the US has gotten a second reprieve as a ruling by a federal judge means that her new date will likely fall during Joe Biden’s presidency, and he has vowed to work to outlaw corporal punishment. The execution has been pushed back as several of her lawyers reportedly have coronavirus.

Lisa Montgomery, 43, was sentenced to death in 2007 for the murder of pregnant mother Bobbie Jo Stinnett, 23 in 2004. Montgomery strangled her victim before cutting her foetus from her body using a carving knife. The baby miraculously survived.

Analysts say that Donald Trump’s administration is rushing through the execution of more prisoners before he leaves office, the first federal executions during a President’s ”lame duck” final days in 130 years.
