Criminal arrested for biting Murcia police officer

A CRIMINAL has been arrested for biting a local Murcia police officer after he was arrested for drinking alcohol in the street.

When the officer approached the 34-year-old man on Monday, December 14, he resisted providing his identification and allegedly confronted the policeman before the confrontation turn into a scuffle.
During the fight, which occured in the Jardín del Malecón, the known criminal allegedly took advantage of the fact that he and a policeman had fallen to the ground and bit him two of the officer’s fingers.
The man, who was subjected to several searches, was carrying several pieces of jewellery in his trouser pocket, which he is now under investigation for.
He has been released on bail while the investigation continues.
