POPULAR writer and director Benito Zambrano has just finished filming his new movie set in Mallorca which was partly financed by the Fundació Mallorca Turisme with technical assistance from the Mallorca Film Commission.
Pan de limón con semillas de amapolas is based on the book of the same name by Cristina Campos, and tells the story of two sisters, Anna and Maria, who meet again during a winter after fifteen years without seeing each other, to sell a mill and an oven they have inherited from a stranger.
Filming, has helped to reactivate Valldemossa, the main location of the film, which for weeks has been filled with a large team, which has helped to improve economic data of the municipality.
This project has given an economic injection to the town not just the hospitality industry but the use of technical staff and local talent, with Valldemossa and Mallorca being promoted throughout the film.
It should be noted that the filming has strictly complied with all anti-covid-19 measures, and that, by PCR, safety distances, constant disinfection, masks and bubble groups, there was no significant incidence of the virus in the shooting which confirmed that Mallorca is a safe destination for filming.
