Explosion Heard in East London as Police Evacuate Surrounding Houses.
Newham Police said they have evacuated a residential area following an explosion inside a residential property in Waddington Road, near the Westfield Stratford City Shopping Centre. The explosion in East London has forced police to cordon off the entire residential area.
Newham Police said officers are assisting the London Fire Brigade who are on scene, the force said police were called at 7.45 am to reports of an explosion and placed a cordon around the area- there have been no reported injuries. Enquiries into what caused the explosion are ongoing.
