Frantic search launched after baby’s hat found covered in blood

FRANTIC search is launched after a baby’s hat, covered in blood, is found at Corstorphine Hill in Edinburgh.

Police raced to the woodland park in Edinburgh after a horrified dog walker found a ‘blood-soaked baby’s hat’ inside a carrier bag.

Emergency services arrived on the scene at Corstorphine Hill in Edinburgh after the item was discovered at around 9:35 am Wednesday, October 21. Forensic officers, including specialist dog teams, were deployed to the scene to scour the beauty spot and conduct detailed searches.

A police source told The Daily Record that ‘a receipt from a Glasgow store’ and a ‘note written in Polish’ had also been found in the carrier bag.

An officer claimed that there was a ‘substantial amount of blood’.

The source confirmed that DNA tests will be carried out on the items and that: “Officers are carrying out a search of the area and no other related items have been found. Enquiries are ongoing.”
