Schoolboy dies and second child fighting for life after being hit by a car while cycling in Hull, East Yorkshire.

THE driver of a BMW has been arrested following the incident on a flyover just after 6pm on Monday, October 19.

Emergency services attended and the boys were taken to hospital for “treatment to life threatening injuries”.

“One of the boys sadly died a short time later. His family have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers. The other boy remains in hospital in a critical condition,” said Humberside Police.

“A 30-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of driving offences in connection with the collision, he remains in our custody whilst enquiries continue.”

Officers from the force’s serious collisions unit are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage to get in touch.
