BENISSA FIREFIGHTERS: Called in to rescue trapped cat, credit: Bomberos Benissa

THE Benissa fire brigade was called in to rescue a cat trapped on the balcony of a second-floor Calpe flat.
This and the apartments above it were empty and it was necessary to go up to the fifth floor before a firefighter could abseil down to the desperately-meowing ginger cat.
Once he was there, the contrary feline promptly jumped down to the street where it was reunited with its owner.
