Spanish Minister Hints at Cuts in Unnecessary Public Spending to Placate European Union

NADIA CALVIÑO, who has previously worked with the European Union is now the Minister responsible for Economic Management and Third Deputy Prime Minister in the current Spanish government.

She was elected as an independent and because of her background as an economist and having past experience with the EU she is heavily involved in Spain’s financial relationship with the European Union.

As countries recover from the Covid-19 pandemic and look to the future, she has hinted that Spain will work for fiscal consolidation by cutting unnecessary public spending.
