Holidaymakers are Desperate to Travel This Summer to Spain’s Costa del Sol and Costa Blanca Resorts

HOLIDAYMAKERS are desperate to travel this summer to Spain’s Costa del Sol and Costa Blanca resorts.

The survey conducted by LuggageHero showed that almost half of Europeans wanted to go to another country for a holiday before September if quarantine travel restrictions are lifted.

The study conducted online between May 10 and 14 showed a 23 per cent rise in the numbers wanting a foreign break compared to April’s survey.

Final figures show a strong willingness for a holiday amongst Europeans rising to around 70 per cent if their feelings over foreign travel for 2020 and 2021 were combined.

Of the 26 per cent that said they would travel next year, only 6 per cent of them said that having a Covid-19 vaccine was a key pre-condition of making a journey.

Despite the horrors of the pandemic, it is clear that there is a big demand for tourists to hit key tourist summer markets in countries like Spain, Greece, France and Turkey.

Inevitably there will be an increase in domestic tourism over the next few months, as Spain looks to tap into that market from July to make up for the lack of visitors from traditional areas like the UK, France, Germany, and Scandinavia.

With air operators planning a July return, there is every indication that there is still a very eager international tourist sector to be tapped, even at a vastly reduced level compared to previous years.
