The public face of Spain’s health alert and emergencies has tested positive for Covid-19

Spain’s head of Health Alerts and Emergencies, Fernando Simón, has tested positive for coronavirus.

SIMÓN has been giving daily live updates as director of the centre which coordinates nationwide emergencies, but was absent this morning after the virus was detected last night.

The 57-year-old has been showing symptoms for 24 hours. He self isolated a week ago after showing signs of the virus but tested negative.
