#UNMS2020
For the fifth year running we are holding our international resident community get-together. On April 23 from 9.30 till 2 at finca Amalur Alabardero.
Topics of previous years:
UNMS2016 – UNMS2017 – general feedback from the community to diagnose what action need be taken to address issues that frequently only affect the resident international community.
UNMS2018 – Joining the dots – businesses assessing the benefits of further involvement with the resident community by taking part in resolving some of the issues identified and encouraging new business by collaborating with local charity incentives.
UNMS2019 – Filling in the gaps by associating associations, further involvement with schools and more prominence for our local town hall and their dedication to our international community.
UNMS2020:
We’re now officially putting into practice the issue that has been of most interest to most people every single year. Creating a communication grape-vine.
To achieve this we are appointing Team Captains to act as a portal for each category, to then also ensure a cross over of information within each topic when required.
The following people have volunteered to head up the following groups:
So far:
a) Angela Lafferty has been at most, if not all of the previous events and is heading up sustainability, a subject that has gained so much more protagonism since the first #UNMS2016.
b) Sam Campbell will assist with the priority objectives for our teen community with the top goals being special deals at cinemas, promoting fun entertainment in sports clubs during weekends and holidays, to establish some form of emotional support group and promote further interaction with our business and charities to create opportunities for a future career and life in Marbella, if we want them to stay.
c) Tom Burns, president of Age Concern Marbella San Pedro is helping compile everything relative not just to the elderly, but all vulnerable members of the community to coordinate services and support systems in our community.
d) Chris Long, Principal of the English International College, very active participants at last year’s event, is helping engage other schools and students with their particular projects and hopefully to encourage the children to participate in all groups. After all, the children are our future!
e) I will continue to help extend the #ZeroHero incentive which is another of our summit successes – free soft drinks for the designated driver ensuring a safer community for all.
As group representatives we will hold regular #UNM meetings to exchange notes to ensure we support all incentives and information is shared.
This year we’re pleased that once again dignitaries and consuls will be joining the estimated 300 plus members of the international community – we hope you will be one of them. Save the date!!
