First Serious Coronavirus Case in Spain’s Catalonia

Four new people have been confirmed to be infected with the killer virus in Catalonia, bringing the total number of cases up to 32. Among these four persons, the first serious case has been reported. This is a 50-year-old man from Barcelona, who has previous diseases as well.

The secretary of Public Health, Joan Guix, has explained that his situation is serious but at the moment “without any danger at all.”

The other new cases are a 57-year-old woman, another 39-year-old woman and a 34-year-old man, all three of them from Barcelona. Their condition is stable with only mild symptoms at the moment. 

The total number of coronavirus cases in Spain has now exceeded 220, with three deaths reported to date.
