Sad end for dolphin beached on Costa Almeria beach

A SICK dolphin which beached in Aguadulce on Saturday afternoon sadly died.
Members of the Equinac marine life rescue association and Almeria Guardia Civil found the creature in a very poor state. It had external injuries, which Equinac reported were compatible with a possible avipoxvirus which affects the immune system.
All they could do was to make the last minutes of the ailing dolphin’s life as comfortable as possible.
Roquetas de Mar Civil Protection transferred the remains to the University of Almeria to carry out an autopsy.
