CAN you imagine never having the pleasure of reading or even owning a book? This is the reality for many children, and something founder of Costa Blanca’s Spread Some Sunshine project, Helen Davis, wants to address.

To mark World Book Day on March 5, Helen is asking everybody to help spread a little sunshine and support 36 children in care in Sri Lanka who may not otherwise possess their own novel.

She told Euro Weekly News “Most don’t possess a book or read well. Please help by putting just a few euros into one of our collection tins at Villa Mia near the Arenal, or Heaven Boutique.

“Just €100 would enable us to buy a book for each child.”

Spread some sunshine is a fundraising project supporting Children in Care on the South West coast of Sri Lanka.

The aim is to: supply nutritious food, support well-being, provide craft classes/educational materials, purchase shoes, clothing and personal essentials as well as carry out improvements to the homes.
