ANTENA 3’s Benidorm drama series, set on the Costa Blanca, is one of 12 chosen to participate in the MIPTV television trade fair in Cannes. Regarded as a global market for co-producing, buying, selling, financing and distributing entertainment content, the fair will be held from March 30 until April 2. It provides the TV, film, digital, production and distribution industry with a networking forum to discover future trends on a wide-reaching level, the organisers explained. Benidorm, which will be viewed by more than 400 executive buyers from 100 countries, began filming on location last November and will have a prime time slot later this year. As the name suggests, the resort itself is at the heart of the series which was shot entirely on location in Benidorm and the Costa Blanca as well as some scenes in Durango (Vizcaya), the hometown of the series’ male lead.
