THE Children’s Carnival starts this Saturday, February 22 in the Costa Blanca town at 11am in the municipal marquee at the La Bolleta car park. This will be the starting point for a parade through the centre of Alfaz that marks the start of the celebrations which will continue until 3.30pm. The Jungle has been chosen as the theme for this year’s children’s Carnival organised by the town hall’s Youth and Fiestas departments in collaboration with the Penya Induccio the 2020 fiestas group and Alfaz’s Fourth Scout troop. At 11.30am, following the parade and back in the municipal marquee, there will be bouncy castles, a “mascleta” where 2,000 balloons will be released instead of fireworks and a variety of games and activities. Penya Induccio will also be running a bar with drinks and food at popular prices.
“The more the merrier,” declared Fiestas councillor Laura Sevilla as she invited the town’s children and adults to take part.
“There will be prizes for the best fancy dress costumes, surprises, a great atmosphere and lots of fun,” she promised.
