THIS coming Saturday February 15, the Casares council will hold a public ceremony to thank all of those who were involved in tackling and eventually extinguishing the forest fire that occurred last October.

In accordance with local bylaws and tradition at the time of Andalucia Day, the council is empowered to formally honour those who it believes acted in a manner which was to the benefit of the town.

It is not just a recognition for all of those fire fighters, police and civil employees who took part in fighting the fire but also to local residents who volunteered their services to help control the potential disaster.
