THE Consumer Information Office of Rincón de la Victoria, in Axarquia, has reported that the facilities of Yelmo Cines have removed the signage that prohibited the entry of food and beverages purchased outside its facilities, as requested by the Councilwoman Mari Carmen Cañizares. This action “has taken place following the report made by the Consumer area to this chain of cinemas after numerous complaints we have received from users since last October when Yelmo Cines Rincón de la Victoria decided to take this prohibition measure.” “We are aware that the withdrawal of this signage occurred last week, therefore, we understand that any user is free to access food or drinks from abroad to cinemas, ” added Cañizares. The controversy began when Yelmo Cinemas of Spain placed a poster in all its nationwide cinemas that warned that “In compliance with Decree 10/2003 of January 28, when having Bar service in the establishment and being registered in the epigraph 674.6 of the Tax on Economic Activities, we do not allow the entry of food and drinks not purchased in Yelmo.”
