Coronavirus: Eight People In The UK Are Now Infected Credit: Shutterstock
As Euro Weekly News understands, two healthcare workers in the UK have been diagnosed with coronavirus.
According to Sky News, Public Health England has said two GP surgeries have closed, both linked to a UK case of the illness.
The UK government has now declared a “serious and imminent threat to public health”, taking new measures which mean anyone with the virus can be forcibly quarantined and won’t be allowed to leave.
Eight people in the UK are now infected – all the latest cases linked to a businessman who contracted it in Singapore before flying to the French Alps.
The two GP surgeries to close are the County Oak Medical Centre in Brighton after a medical worker thought to be a member of staff tested positive for coronavirus and the Brackley Medical Centre in Northamptonshire, although the latter medical centre has reportedly stated that the closure is due to a “potential coronavirus incident” but insists it does not have a confirmed case.
