Councils across the UK who had been ordered to Fly Union Jacks on Prince Andrews birthday made so much complaint that now Downing Street have put it under review.
Councils branded it crass and offensive to the nation, with Downing Street saying the matter will be looked into.
It comes after many critics demanding the order to be scrapped after the sexual allegations made of the Duke of York.
An official spokesman for Downing Street said the order was an administrative standard email about long standing policy.
The Major of Liverpool Joe Anderson has been the most outspoken and has stated publicly that he will not be flying any such flag under the circumstances.
Andrew himself is still pleading total innocence of all allegations despite now being chased by the FBI.
