LAST week, Alfaz hosted the first national T10 Cricket League, with the home team topping the rankings. Alfaz’s mayor Vicente Arques, accompanied by sports councillor Oscar Perez, visited the ground before the final matches, congratulating the sporting Alfaz Cricket Club for organising the series of matches with teams from Pinatar, La Manga and Madrid. These went ahead although the first day’s matches were suspended, owing to the virulence of Storm Gloria. All the matches were streamed live on YouTube with crews from Latvia and Germany who remained in Alfaz throughout the series.
