SAYING goodbye to a loved one who has passed is never easy. Added to the emotional turmoil are the technical and legal issues, which are often the last challenge one wants to address.
In collaboration with the Bon Sosec Crematorium and a selected body of professionals, Glynis German, who is a funeral celebrant and studying to be an end-of-life doula, has organised the opportunity to understand what has to be done following someone’s death. Ms German said:

We have to accept that most people will have to do this at some time in their lives.

“So it makes sense that to have some idea of what needs to be done and what help there is available before the inevitable challenges arise.

My experience is that when people meet the warm, sensitive and very professional Bon Sosec staff, understand the processes that have to be completed in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, then they feel far more able when the critical moment comes.

Its really a process of empowerment, giving people both the knowledge of how to get the necessary things done and the emotional strength to do them. An introduction before the event and meeting the people they will deal with in relaxed surroundings will go a long way calming fears and uncertainty about the unknown.

Each morning session will offer presentations, information on costs and essential paperwork. The first event will take place on February 7 from 11am until 1pm at Tanatorio Crematorio II Bon Sosec in Marratxi.
