Costa del Sol news: Malaga schools awarded for improving coexistence

THE Ministry of Education and Sports has distinguished a total of nine educational centers in the community with the Annual Awards for the Promotion of the Culture of Peace and School Coexistence of the 2019/20 academic year, an initiative that recognizes the work of teachers, the families, and students to improve coexistence in the school environment. In the case of the province of Malaga, the CEIP Severo Ochoa de Malaga and Guadalhorce de Alora have been awarded.

The aim of these awards is to publicly recognise and disseminate the best practices that are being carried out in the school environment to promote the culture of peace and the integral formation of students to achieve a more just and tolerant society, as well as the peaceful resolution and dialogue of the conflicts inherent in coexistence.

In this edition, the jury has awarded two first prizes that were given to the Institutes of Secondary Education (IES) Fuentealta de Algodonales (Cadiz) and Puerta de Arenas de Campillo de Arenas (Jaen). The second prize also shared, went to Severo Ochoa Infant and Primary schools in Malaga and Manuel Canela in Seville.
