Costa del Sol News: Help is at hand with Age Concern on the Costa del Sol

Age Concern Fuengirola, Mijas and Benalmadena have already introduced some changes for 2020. They now have a Facebook and a Web page which

will ensure that at the tap of a button you have access to the Charity and full details of their social events calendar and news. The Facebook page can be found at Age Concern Fuengirola, Mijas & Benalmadena and the Web page is www.ageconcernfym.com.

As the Charity continues to grow they are now able to serve clients in Arroyo/Benalmadena meaning they now have four fully operational weekly drop-in social clubs located in Los Boliches, La Cala, Mijas Pueblo, and Benalmadena.

This year’s events will include more day trips, their fabulous “mini-cruise”

and a summer concert that is sure to be a sell-out with details to be released in the spring. There will also be fundraising events including an Annual Challenge

where every year they hold a fundraising event to highlight that older people are still full of life. Previous challenges include a Skydive from 15000 feet, the Longest Zipwire in Europe from Spain to Portugal and abseiling down the iconic Sunset Beach Hotel in Benalmadena.

Age Concern is open to the whole English speaking community in the region

They are your local “helping hand” providing advice, help, support, and friendship

with the goal of eradicating loneliness and isolation that has become the mainstay of too many people.

With an Age Concern club near you, there is no need to ever be alone. All the clubs are free to join and fun to be a part of.

For that little extra personal help and support the Welfare team are here to help

and ensure all discussions are confidential.

Age Concern is always in need of volunteers and current opportunities include helping in our Charity shop in Los Boliches or taking clients to hospital and collecting donations.
