HISTORY was made at the Campo Vinuela recently when Aston VIinuela’s two Blue Sky Marbella Walking Football League teams were drawn together in the First Round of the League Cup clashed to see who would go through to a Semi-Final against old rivals Smiles.
Team “A” resplendent in their new yellow and blue kits raced into an early lead with goals in the 9th and 12th minutes. Team B settled after this shock pulling a goal back in the 14th minute with a great shot from ex Chelsea and England Ladies football team player Sheila Clifford.”B”‘s equalised three minutes later in the 17th minute leaving the half time score as two goals each.
The second half was closely contested with play swinging from end to end. However, it was the “B” team who took the ascendency sealing the match in the 8th and 14th minutes of the second half to claim the Semi-Final Spot against old rivals Smiles.
