CALPE town hall has put out to tender the concession for Blue Zone parking and operating the municipal tow-truck. There will be 2,136 paid parking spaces split into three zones. There will be Zona Azul parking from Monday to Saturday year-round, excluding holidays, as well as a Zona Verde (Green Zone) in force each morning from Monday to Friday, again excluding national holidays. There will be Zona Naranja (Orange Zone) parking between July 1st and August 31st in areas adjoining the beaches, together with another Mixed Orange Zone in the Old Town between May 1st and October 31st from 6pm until 9pm. More streets will be affected than before, explained the town hall which hopes this will produce faster rotation with more vehicles parking for shorter periods. Part of Avenida Masnou, together with Calle Benissa, Calle Murillo and Calle Isaac Peral will now have Green zone parking, municipal sources revealed. Blue and Green Zones will cost 90 cents for non-residents and 45 cents an hour for residents and business owners. There will be a €1 per hour charge in Orange Zones and 50 cents for residents and business owners. The Mixed Orange Zone will have a fixed €5 charge. There will be no charge for zero-emissions vehicles or, as in the past, for the disabled.
