THE Guardia Civil have confirmed that the human remains found near a farmhouse in Spain’s Andalusia belongs to Celso Ruiz García, the missing 89-year-old man who disappeared on December 30.

The shocking discovery was made by a local Spanish resident who was attending the land on his farm in Zújar, Granada. The remains had been found scattered around the land, including one of his hands which proved crucial to officers to determine his identity.

As Euro Weekly News understands, an investigation is now being carried out to find out exactly how he died, but local sources indicate that police believe it is likely that animals may have torn him apart, where several missing parts of his body are still yet to be found.

Celso Ruiz García, who suffered from senile dementia, had failed to return home after going to pick his wife up from the hairdressers. As several hours passed and there was no sign of Mr Garcia, his daughter had made a frantic call to the police where a search and rescue team were quickly deployed.

The Guardia Civil are now in charge of leading the investigation to bring closure to the family.
