VERA council’s 2020 budget plans threaten the municipality’s healthy financial situation, the local PSOE Socialist Group claims.
In a statement issued in response to the extraordinary plenary session to approve this year’s municipal spending plans for Vera, Municipal Socialist Group spokesman Martin Gerez argued that the PP had turned the budget into “a party propaganda tool, which at the same time puts the financial solvency inherited from previous municipal managers at risk.”
Gerez also strongly criticised what he described as “political irresponsibility” in promising fiscal reductions “without saying how they are going to materialise while voting against concrete proposals like a reduction in IBI which the PSOE took to the plenary meeting.”
