Spain hit by more fatalities on the road as woman dies in horror collision

SPAIN has been hit by another fatality on the road, as a woman was sadly killed in a car collision, adding to the rising death toll for 2020.

As reported by the emergency services, the fatal accident occurred in the early hours of this morning (January 8) on the A-431 highway that passes through Peñaflor in Seville. Two cars travelling on the road crashed into one another head on, causing considerable damage to both vehicles.

As the accident was called in to the 112 emergency hotline, ambulances rushed to the scene, where they found a woman in seriously hurt. Paramedics desperately fought to save the victim’s life, however there was nothing that could be done as she was pronounced dead a short time later. 

The other driver, a 39-year-old man, was also seriously injured, where he was subsequently transferred to the Reina Sofía hospital in Córdoba. Medical personnel reveal that he is in a serious but stable condition.

As a result of the accident, the road was closed in both directions, whilst officers from the Guardia Civil’s Traffic Unit gathered critical evidence from the scene. As Euro Weekly News understands, an investigation has now been launched to determine the exact circumstances that led to this tragic event.
