Pig suffers abhorrent cruelty as it is tied up and brutally beaten with a sledgehammer in Spain

THE National Police have arrested two men for animal cruelty after a pig was brutally beaten with a sledgehammer in Valladolid, Spain.

The abhorrent act of cruelty took place on December 22, when a 38- and 51-year-old man stumbled upon a Vietnamese pig on a farm. They then decided to tie the pig up to a fence and beat the defenceless animal with a sledgehammer in an unprovoked and horrifying attack.

The shocking incident was reported to police by two eye-witnesses who rushed to the pig’s aid and took the animal to a nearby vet. Sadly, the pig suffered severe internal bleeding and died a short time later.

After calls from the local community to catch those responsible for the animal’s death, the police launched an investigation and were able to arrest the two men today (December 28). As Euro Weekly News understands, both men have been released from custody and have been ordered to appear in court next week.
