POLICE have arrested two men after catching them in the middle of a drugs transaction in a Gandia shop.
Officers surprised the pair as the drug seller was handing over eight grammes of cocaine to his customer in individual one gramme packets.
Police had had their eye on the individual due to suspicions he was flogging cocaine at his place of work, which is where he hid the drugs.
A search of the man’s locker and of his home resulted in the seizure of 88 grammes of cocaine, more than €2,200 in cash and a set of precision scales.
The detainees face charges of a crime against public health. Police said the two, both Spanish, have police records.
One has been put in the custody of the courts and one has been released and warned off the obligation of appearing in court when required.
