MIJAS on the Costa del Sol is playing host to a national-level football competition this weekend.
The national Autonomous Community championships for women’s U15s and U17s will see matches played between the current champions, Andalucia, and La Mancha and Murcia in the first phase of the competition.
“We are going to meet the players of the future, as well as of the present, with the participation of several in higher level selections and professional teams,” said Pablo Lozano, president of the Royal Andalusian Football Federation.
The Andalucian U15s team will play on Saturday 21 at 10.30 am at Antonio Márquez de Mijas Pueblo against Castilla La Mancha, then on Sunday, at the same time and field, against Murcia.
The U17s will play on Saturday in the Campo Francisco Santana de La Cala de Mijas ground at 12.30pm against Castilla la Mancha, and then on Sunday against Murcia at the same time and place.
