A MAN has been arrested after a woman was found dead inside her car with serious head injuries in Northamptonshire, England.
Emergency services rushed to Elderton Way in Earls Barton yesterday evening (December 15), after a call was made to report that a car parked on the road had its window smashed and that there was a woman dead inside.
Police launched a murder investigation, where a 69-year-old man has since been arrested today on suspicion of murdering the 63-year-old woman, who died from being badly beaten.
People living on the housing estate expressed their shock at the murder. Witnesses state that the area is free from crime and is the home of many families and elderly residents.
A spokesperson for Northamptonshire Police said:
“Officers were called to a private residential car park shortly after 8pm last night after a woman was found dead in her car with serious head injuries.
“A post-mortem is due to take place later today.
“A 69-year-old man from Northampton has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody.”
