Art sets Altea apart Costa Blanca

THE Processos de Transformacio art exhibition opened recently at the Casa Toni el Fuster gallery. The works on show are included in the Generalitat Valenciana’s Collection of Contemporary Art and havecome to Altea on the basis ofits status as the region’s Cultural Capital. The inauguration was attended by Altea’s mayor Jaume Llinares, Culture councillor Aurora Serra and Jose Luis Perez Pont, director of the region’s Consortium of Museums. The 33 works on display reflect Art in the present-day Valencian Region, Perez Pont explained. “They explore the processes of the transformation of society and invite the observer to reflect on, and appreciate, the world that we inhabit,” he said. Perez Pont added that the exhibition also set outto support artists and galleries, while strengthening the Valencian Community’s artistic framework. Thanking the Consortium of Museums for its support, Jaume Llinares emphasised that art and artists are one of Altea’s principal characteristics. “That is what makes us different,” the mayor declared. The exhibition can be visited until January 12from Tuesday to Friday between 6pm and 9pm and on Saturdays from 11.30 am until 1.30 pm.
