La Cala de Mijas Lions are always busy on the Costa del Sol

President, Anita presented €500 to the Royal British Legion Credit: La Cala de Mijas Lions

THE La Cala de Mijas Lions recently held their annual Christmas Fayre at Treetops Restaurant, El Chapparal Golf.

The event was a great success with over 30 stalls including, cakes, raffle, tombola, quality clothing from the Lions Charity Shop, Christmas decorations and bric a brac.

There were also local traders with stalls selling, gifts, knitted items, toys, jewellery, toiletries, insurance, funeral plans and travel services.

Visitors to the Fayre were entertained by carols from the young Stagecoach Singers as well as the Costa Soul Singers.

During the Fayre, the Lions president, Anita Humphreys, presented a cheque in the sum of €500 to the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.

This event raised €3000 which will be used by the Lions which supports many charities throughout the year.

The next Lions get together is their Christmas Party this Saturday December 14 which is also being held at their new venue, Treetops Restaurant.

Tickets for the four course meal which includes canapes and cava on arrival at 7pm as well as wine beer or soft drinks and entertainment from the Zing duo cost €45 per person and can be purchased from their Charity Shop in Calle Torremolinos, La Cala de Mijas or by calling 637 185 533.
