Green light for La Nucia municipal budget on Costa Blanca

LA NUCIA council’s more than €21.5 million budget for next year has got the green light.
The municipal spending plans for 2020 were approved at a recent plenary meeting.
The local authority underlined the €1.7 million earmarked for investments. Among the projects the council plans to spend money on are works on the second pavillion, parking at the sports centre, upgrades to roads, improvements to water supply infrastructure, continuing with the installation of LED lighting systems in public illuminations and increasing the number of electric vehicle charging points.
The council also emphasized the €1.6 million allocated to job training as a strategy for tackling unemployment and the €400,000 for subsidies for residents in relation to matters including university transport, adult education, rates payments, rubbish collection, water rates, and for day centre users.
“In 2020 La Nucia will have a social budget which will retain the nine lines of subsidies to help those most in need”, commented La Nucia Mayor Bernabe Cano.
“It will also be a budget for unemployment with a €1.6 million investment in different lines and training courses. And finally it is an investment budget with different actions on and improvements to infrastructure”, the Mayor added.
“In addition, we will continue adjusting the municipal accounts to all the budget stability set out by the Treasury Ministry”, he promised.
