BUSINESS visitors and the family tourism market are the main targets of the most recent Almeria city promotions.
A delegation from the provincial capital’s Promotion department is in Barcelona this week for the IBTM World trade fair, a major event for the global meetings, incentives, conferences and events industry.
The city council is keen to attract more congresses and conferences to Almeria’s Cabo de Gata Palacio de Exposiciones y Congresos and to other venues, and has been presenting the city as an ideal location for staging business conferences and industry gatherings, as well as a great destination for incentive trips organised by companies for their employees.
City Promotion councillor Carlos Sanchez maintains Almeria is highly competitive in this sector thanks to its modern congress facilities right next to the Cabo de Gata Natural Park as well as a wide range of hotels, an excellent climate, beaches which he said can be enjoyed year-round, excellent cuisine and an attractive cultural heritage.
“This is what we want to show at this fair in order to increase our number of congress-goers, with the consequent benefits for businesses, hotels, the catering trade, tourist companies and Almeria’s economy in general”, the councillor commented.
An Almeria city delegation will also be in Valladolid from November 21 to 24 for the 23rd edition of the INTUR inland tourism fair to promote the provincial capital as a family destination and to address the seasonal nature of visits.
