It was a Hectic start to the race as Hamilton went down into fifth and Verstappen to eighth Leclerc lead from Vettel Albon Sainz Hamilton. Off the grid Vettel seemed to squeeze Hamilton, who had to let off the gas and then collied with Verstappen who was driving like a man possessed after stewards the evening before stripped him of his pole position for ignoring yellow flags in qualifying.

Verstappen shortly afterwards had a puncture and had to box to receive fresh boots. He entered back on track in 20th at the back of the field. If qualifying was bad for Verstappen the race had just got alot worse. The race after that was pretty bland in all honestly based more on strategic pit stops and variants of tyre use at critical times. With 7 laps to go Hamilton was leading the race on worn tyres having one-stopped Vettel and Bottas, as well as two-stopping Leclerc all hunting Hamilton down but Hamilton just turned to his driving skills on worn boots and set a fastest lap to retaliate. Last lap Hamilton had just a 1.7 second advantage over closing Vettel but hung on to the chequered flag.
