Disastrous Day’s Fishing In Teulada-Moraira

Disastrous Day’s Fishing In Teulada-Moraira

RIVER JUCAR: Very popular with anglers  Photo credit: Fer

TEULADA-MORAIRA Fishing Club’s fourth winter match was to be fished on Section B2 of the River Jucar.
On arriving another club was already fishing there as well as B1, despite a notice saying this was reserved for the Teulada-Moraira club.
The bailiff was not available to resolve the issue and members were faced with the option of arguing with the other club or fishing elsewhere.
They opted for the latter and fished the same section as the previous week, the nearest and easiest choice.
It was very pleasantly sunny with hardly a breath of wind and a 21-degree temperature.
Jason Lawson landed a fish with his first cast, leading members to hope the section would be better than the previous week.
It was almost an hour before the second fish was landed and things did not improve as the day progressed.
Six members were left with empty nets and it was a disastrous day for almost half of those taking part, with 18 carp caught, weighing a total of 23.4 kilos.
