Two boys arrested for throwing 13 year old off a bridge in Granada

THE Two minors, aged 18 and 20 have been arrested by the Local Police of Granada for throwing the 13 year old off the six metre bridge spanning the Rio Genil.

The incident occurred at 11.30pm on Monday night when a local police officer was called to the area of the Roman Bridge by the Darro with Puente Blanco after reports of a young man in the water.

He was being helped by other citizens who managed to get him back onto dry land.

According to several witness reports, the young man was attacked by the two youths near the garden area next to the public library before moving onto the bridge where they lifted him up and threw him in.

The attackers, of Morrocan nationality, were arrested shortly afterwards and have since been detained awaiting trial.

The victim who was not of Spanish Nationality but did not carry any identification on him, suffered minor hyperthermia and is currently being cared for by guardians at a nearby juvenile facility.
