Senior Citizens Honoured For Community Role In Marbella

TRIBUTE has been paid to pensioners who contribute to community live in Marbella.

The Palace of Fairs and Congresses ‘Adolfo Suarez’ hosted the town´s second Tribute to the Elderly when the council, through the delegation of Social Rights, recognised the work of 14 senior citizens.

Nominations for the honours came from the town´s Active Participation Centres, which support pensioners in maintaining positive roles in the community, as well as from family, friends and neighbours.

Mayor Ángeles Muñoz attended the event and congratulated the elders and the work of the Active Participation Centres which she said will continue to receive the council´s backing.

She said: “We will continue to do this tribute every year and also, we will continue to improve both the facilities of the centres and their activities, so that Marbella is recognised for the good care given to their elders.

Those honoured were Josefina Arias González; Mario Cáceres Gómez; Manuela Cano Sermíchero; Dolores Espejo Pachecho; Germán García Calvo; Tomás García Mata; María García Ortiz; Ángel González Ortega; Valentina Guadarrama del Caz; Juan Manuel Lorenzo López; Teodoro Marfil Sánchez; Fernando Piquer Villarroel; Francisco Raggio Molinary and Leonardo Ruiz Pascual.
